Germán Valenzuela Basterrica

Hello bloggers !! this week I will talk about a person who I admire for their contribution to dentistry in Chile (specifically the faculty of dentistry at the University of Chile): Germán Valenzuela Basterrica.

Germán Valenzuela Basterrica was a well-known doctor and dentist, who after studying medicine was sent by the government to specialize as a dentist to Paris, obtaining his degree in 1889. After obtaining his degree as a dentist at the Dental School of Paris, he was appointed director and professor of the existing School in Chile. This public health institution until 1909 was the one who had received less state aid but this situation changed on February 5, 1909 by the burning of the "German Legation", known as the crime of Beckert which thanks to dental intervention Dr. Germán Valenzuela Chile saved the prestige of giving light to the truth and finding the real criminal. For this reason the President of the Republic, Pedro Montt, Valenzuela validated the idea of having a modern Dental School ordering the construction of the new building began.

This case is very interesting !! I hope they can get it and read it carefully! This is just a little blurb. Regards!
